In 2009 the Empower Your Future program refocused itself to concentrate on a single school in order to make a bigger difference in the lives of a smaller group of students rather than a single informational and inspirational meeting at a number of different schools. By doing so the mentors can be a guiding light in a very important time in the lives of the program's students.

Officer Joe goes over the message and Judge Brown believes in audience participation

Sergeant Leticia Corrall, Blue Goose restaurant owner and car racer Matt Mortimer, Officer Joe, and Chief Charley Cato, were the speakers at the 9/24/2009 presentation. Each speaker spoke of their experiences when they were in school and talked of the road they followed to their careers through Endurance, Perseverance, and Education.

Sergeant Corral drove the DPD's low rider interceptor much to the delight of the students and teachers.

One big benefit of having a sponsor like the Blue Goose is having wonderful meals provided for all.

Rene Larrave, owner of the Motopia Cafe and motorcycle tourer and traveler of over 40 countries is also an active speaker and sponsor to the EYF program.

The EYF program was honored to have athlete Justin Meaders to also speak to the students to demonstrate that with the 3 keys to success of the program they can succeed as well.
